MMM, this is a hard one to answer. I was not one of the "popular" kids in school, altho I had my own group of friends (Sharon Morrow, Patsy Call, Tim Kensinger, Susie Yaegar, Jim Bamber, Susan Ewing). I remember whitewashing the the "D", and what fun that was. My bud Patsy Call had the biggest crush on Carl Bledsoe, and I thought that David Demick was the cutest thing on the campus. Of course Paul Ennis was a close second to David. I had to live in the shadow of my brother, Doug Lackey (damn him,, he is still smart), But I remember Mrs. Alford, Ms Horcasitas. Mr. Bledsoe was the principal, and what a threatening shadow he could cast. Andrea Andonian fell into a patch of cactus in JR High, and had to go to the hospital. I keep remembering all kinds of things, but know that I don't have the space to write it all. Ms. Flynn was the French teacher (she used to yell "it is no sin to be a Flynn" at the pep rally's), and she was there one year, and during the summer,,,poof, she was gone (must have slept with the wrong person LOL). Roller skating at the rink, dancing at the teen club (Rene' Linpinsky's father ran the club, anyone remember him?), and then they made the movie "Johnny Goldfarb please come home", they had a football field built in the desert for that one (the grass from that movie was transplanted to the bowling alley. The senior varsity football team was in the movie too. Anyone remember that? I guess the biggest thrill is that I went to the senior prom with Mike Yeagar. I was only a freshman, and am sure that he did it on a dare, but it was a blast.

Biography
Well, I have lived in Florida now for 26 years. I am a store manager for Kmart Corporation, and run a 15 million dollar store here in Florida. I still keep in touch with Patsy Call (Nellis). I have been married for 17 years now, and have one daughter, Tiffany, who is 8, and is the joy of our life. It was hard at first to settle here, after moving all those years, but guess I have settled in. Being raised in the air force was probably the best childhood I could have had. I can't imagine living in the same town, all my life, being raised with the same kids from grade one til graduation. Being raised in the military probably made me a better person, more outspoken and aggressive. I would love to hear from any of you that went to school with me (that is those of you who might remember me LOL).

Graduation; thinking that getting away from the desert was the best thing in the world. Wrong!!

Biography
I came back to the desert in the spring of 73 after graduating from Cal State Fullerton with a teaching certificate. I just couldn't handle the smog, no stars at night, and the freeway traffic. I got a job with Muroc and I've been here ever since, teaching kindergarten since 76. I see DHS all the time, even though I teach off-base at West Boron. I also see some of our old teachers: Mrs. P, Orky,Coach Jones. Mrs.Lindsey passed away recently, as did Coach McGowan. They named the district's continuation high school after Bob 5 months before he died. Looking over this site I recognize a lot of names from my time at Desert: anyone know what happened to Keith Kent? I am married and have a 17 year old step-son, my husband is Project Manager, Lockheed Martin Space Shuttle Support Services (I know, we haven't seen the bird in years!) Mark Swann is a neighbor and his son plays varsity baseball with my son at BORON. The rivalry between Desert and Boron is alive and well (and very nasty at times). We don't wear purple to Boron games but when they're at Desert we've been known to sit on Desert's side just to live dangerously! Steve Hurst teaches in the Antelope Valley (his little sister teaches on base and she was in My first kindergarten class! That was strange-parent conferences with Mr. Hurst on the OTHER side of the desk.)

driving half the football team to Boron to change their B to a D.... racing the train across the Desert on our way to Boron HS. We lost 13-0.

Biography
I left Desert High after only 1 year, (67), and graduated from Yamato HS in Tachikawa AFB Japan in 68. Went to Sophia Un before joining the Aif Force serving with Armed Forces Radio And TV in Vietnam and Thailand.

After my 4 year stay with the military I settled in Jachsonville Fla attending college and working for Southern Bell Telephone as an engineer/tech for 25 years. Graduated from Un of North Florida in 1976 with a BA in Business and US History.

I took up scuba diving in 1973 and when not at work or in school was underwater. I spent the next 15 years exporing the underground rivers and aquifers of North and Central Fla. To this day I can't expalin the attraction of crawling thru cave systems several hundred feet down and several miles back... crazy I guess.

For those who knew me... I always had a camera in hand... as Dave Demek will attest. He ran me over after winning his 120 low hurdle race at Mojave... resulting in 32 stitches in my ankle and foot.

In 1979 I moved further south to Key West... the islands of the Florida Keys. They were quite beautiful back then and had their own charm and island life style. I had my own 21ft boat and spent the next 15 years exploring and photographing the reefs of the Keys.

After 25 years and 3 back operations I was put out to pasture and on disability. Now I travel the world in search of the perfect underwater picture.

In the last year I have been to Truk Lagoon Micronesia, Hawaii, Guam, Lake Ontario, Wilmington NC, the Dominican Republic diving with 40ft Humpback whales, and several trips to the Bahama's.

I returned 3 weeks ago from Bimini on a 65ft sailboat photographing the Bimini Road and Bimini Wall of National Geographic fame.

I have a return trip to the South Pacific islands in a few months where I will be diving the WWII wrecks of the Japanese Navy. I have alot of these pictures on floppy disc for any of you interested.

Other then that I live a normal life, whatever that is. I just found Classmates.com and Dave Demek. He informed me I was several months tolate for a Desert reunion... well, there is always the next one.
