Football games - especially the one where I got thrown out of because I smelled like beer - that was because we used to use beer to set our hair and it rained during the game - so I did smell like beer.

Biography
Now working for American Eagle Airlines - have been a flight Attendant for 5 1/2 years. Just accepted position as Manager of Catering for Miami Hub.

UP-DATE:
They keep changing don't they! Lately I've been remembering the parties, the ball games, the pep rallies and all the good people that were at Desert at the time. What an wonderful place to be at the time of all the history making events taking place.

Is anyone planning something for us in 2001 - the big 40 for us. Let me know - will be happy to help out.

Am presently in Chicago - transferring to Miami 28 June. Permanent home is Jupiter, Fla Am flight attendant for American Airlines - also retired accountant. Would love to hear from everybody

This updates my prior bio - note e-mail address change.

Biography
I am the founder and pastor of the Russian language congregation at Grace Baptist Church, Brooklyn, NY. My ministry has taken me to the former Soviet Union several times. We also have a large house near JFK Airport in New York City which has been a favorite stop off of missionaries , Russian government and former government officials and many others. While I was a student at DHS Nikita Krushchev was Primier of the Soviet Union and America's arch enemy. Today his son, Sergei, is a good friend, has stayed in our house, and is has now become an American citizen.

I have written one book, "A Harmony of the Four Gospels" in Russian. I haven't written any books in English.

Sports--Teachers--Classmates Going to a small school is a real advantage. Everyone has a chance to get much more envolved.

Biography
After I left Edwards, I spent a little more than a year at Oakland City College and realized a chemistry major was not it for me. I left for Alaska (my father was still in the Air Force in the Anchorage area) and worked for the Civil Service on Saint Lawrence Island. The nearest civilization was an Eskimo village! I left Alaska and joined the Army in early 1963. There was electronics school in El Paso Texas, an assignment in Connecticut (where I met my wife Laurel) and 18 months in Germany. I left the Army in 1967, got married and traveled to the Bay Area. I've been working here ever since. All my jobs have been engineering positions for various hi-tech firms. I'm currently at Hal Computer Systems, located in Campbell. We have two sons. (28 and 25 years old) Would love to hear from any of my DHS classmates and would also like to know about any reunions which include our class.

What a gift we all were given to be able to attend a small school where everyone was known to us and no one was a stranger. A friend's daughter here in Redlands attends Redlands High School with a graduating class of over 1700. She has only 2 close friends and a dozen or so major acquaintances. Doesn't that sound lonely? And only her parents are allowed seating at graduation ceremonies because of space limitations. And this is a relatively small town!!! We were truly blessed.

Biography
I listed all my married names because I've been to a reunion or two and never had the same name twice. My first husband is deceased, my second was an attorney (not to offend anyone but the demise of THAT union should be explanation unto itself) and my present husband gives proof to the old adage..."the third times a charm!" I work for the State of California, Employment Development Department, three days a week and putz around with my wood working and decorative painting the rest of the time when I'm not playing golf. I want to thank my dearest "best friend" Ronalee Crafton McQueen for "finding" me (I didn't know I was lost!) and opening my eyes to all this. I gave Mike Ludeman chapter and verse of my "story" so if anyone is interested, I'd love to hear from you. If anyone knows where to find Mike McCrystal, Diana Gardner, Stan Deuel, Jolane Owings, let's get them on board. I hope to hear from so many of you!!!

My teammates and classmates.. our coaches (Boyett, Fisher & Escalante) and teachers (not forgetting Mr Ferguson who finally taught me that you COULD think your way thru geometry, Mr Crum who taught me to pour acids into water, not the other way around and if I remember correctly, Mrs Jones who taught me enough spanish to make a real fool of myself whenever I try to speak it. Mr Andrews was the first (and last) history teacher I had that made history interesting.

Also can't forget whitewashing the Big "D", going to the varsity football games when I played "B". The school dances, including S. Hawkins, Pep rallies, getting out of class to lay out on the school grounds to watch the X-15 drop, the skating rink and the NCO pool.

My least favorite memory left a "memorial" for quite some time. Some of you may remember one of the outdoor basketball goals being slightly bent. Well, when the Lions Club (my dad and many of your dads)were finishing the work on the center field fence on the baseball field, I was given the task of going to get refreshments for all...I jumped in my dads 58 Buick Stationwagon, proceeded across the field, onto the basketball courts and that stupid basketball goal just jumped right into my path... I showed it...and smacked into it dead center. Most of the dads on the field just looked at me like I was from New York City or outer space. Frankly, I was wishing I was anywhere but where I was at that time. Oh Well...time heals all....lolol

Biography
I don't think anyone thought I was a nerd, maybe just a little too shy. Sports was so much of my life that I had no idea girls were even around. Boy,was I stupid...!!! Okay, okay, so you might classify that as being a little nerdy...`DHS had the best looking girls of any school anywhere, it just took me until my junior year to figure that out and then I always fell for the one's that were already attached...Some of you know who you were.. and it you don't..I'll never tell..!

Putting all of that aside, Cline Perry, Clyde Paulk, Cal Massey, Dan Fannin, Jimmy Curtis and a lot of other guys I played sports with, really helped me fit in to DHS's small community. DHS was the first school I ever attended where everyone knew everyone else and it really made a difference to know that you were not just a faceless body in a crowd. Even if you weren't close friends, everyone always had a good word for you. Thanks to all you that made my high school years worth remembering..!

Anyway, graduated, joined the army, got married, had 3 kids (2 girls 1 boy), left the army, got divorced, lived the single life for the next 13 years, met my present wife, Linda, playing tennis at Cerritos College, got married again, no kids, but we have 6 between us, and 10 grandchildren between us, and one great-grand daughter. Started our own business in 1981 and haven't had time for a vacation since. Getting real close to retirement, and I think I am looking forward to it. Plan to do a lot more fishing and a little more hunting. We have settled in Rowland Heights CA until we decide where we will retire to, then ...

Anyone that would like to contact us and get together to remember old times, b-b-q some good steaks, down some cold ones (NA of course...yeah, right) and see who can tell the most lies about high school, can email us at LindalCo1@hotmail.com It would be great to hear from any DHS alumni anytime..!

Just an update...Linda and I finally sold our home in Rowland Heights CA and moved to Norco (and it is not just a one horse town). We enjoy the country setting, the horses, the strange smells (?), the wind and dust (just like Edwards and Rosamond), the acre of land to mow (yeah, right...thank goodness for gardeners) and the friendly people we have met. Almost ready to retire...but still working (much more slowly now) manufacturing tricycles for preschools and school districts. I think Jim Myer has a business not too many miles up the road from me. Would love to hear from any of you...my email is listed above.

My favorite memories are the people I knew.

Biography
It took an additional year and another summer to finally get my diploma. I was supposed to graduate in 1960. However, I did get my diploma handed to me privately by whomever the principal was at the end of August, 1961.

After leaving Desert I spent two years in the borax mines and five years as an entertainer. (you might remember my records)

Even though I didn't graduate with my class, I have graduated three times since then. I got an AA in Ventura in 1967, a BA at Calif. Lutheran in 1986 and a Master's at UOPhoenix in 1999. I spent 20 years with L.A. County Sheriff's Department, 13 years with Prudential Healthcare and Aetna US Healthcare. I am working with an Import company here in Ventura County at the present time.

I have been married twice and have two kids of my own. My son who was a "dustoff" pilot in Kosovo and is a CHP officer now. My daughter is a mom and home teacher of my three grandsons. My wife also has two. We're waiting for more grands.

I had an e-mail from Jerry Woods a couple of weeks ago and I would like to hear from anyone else who might remember me.
