Favorite Memory:
Just being involved in so many things: yearbook, newpaper, drill-
team, drama, school government, and sports.
Biography
I bought my computer a few months ago and just found this site!!
I work for City of Carson City and I issue building permits - I'm
involved with several local theater companies and have appeared
as a extra in some moves filmed in Northern Nevada. I would like
to hear from other alumni online, but really want to attend a reunion.
I did go to 1972 (Class of 1962 - they invited all of us) but that
was too many years ago!! I haven't heard from any classmates (Lana
and Emily) since mid-70's.

Mr. Crumb (Chemistry, Physics), who proved scientifically why I
would never straighten out my golf slice. Mr. Ferguson (Math), who
taught me that absolutes and postulates aren't a way of life. My
English, Literature and Latin teachers, who never figured out that
Dyslexia was my personal precursory nemesis. Mr. Mosk (Principal),
who reminded me weekly that I wasn't living up to potential!

Have two half filled buckets of mixed but cherished memories of

My favorite memory of Desert are the kids that I spent so much of
my time with, and who, over the years, have come to mean so much
to me, even though I have not seen most of them since graduation.
It was a blessing to have attended Desert High.
Biography
At present, I am an ordained Baptist Minister. I'm sure all of you
who read this and who remember me, are picking yourselves up off
the floor about now. I was voted the "wittiest" in my
class, but I thinkn most of my teachers figured I was a "shoo-in"
for Death Row.

Biography
Graduated from Desert HS in 1960; attended Fresno State and Antelope
Valley Community College and eventually graduated from Westmont
College in 1965. Obtained a teaching credential from UCSB and taught
high school at Coalinga for two years and left just before the earthquake
destroyed the whole town. Obtained a MA from CSU Fullerton and taught
in La Habra for two years until one day I noticed a mountain range
in my back yard for the first time one rare smogless day. I looked
at my new daughter, Amy, thought of her lungs and we left five months
later for the University of Mississippi and further graduate work.
Finished my graduate program and met my son, Scott, in 1973, and
moved to Valdosta State University in South Georgia. In 1975, we
moved to San Diego where I have held several positions as San Diego
State University up to this point in time. Divorce in 1977 and I ran
for 20 years until the lovely and iron willed Joanne threatened
to leave me for someone else if I didn't marry her. Have been happily
married for five years!

Everything! I loved going to high school at Desert. I was active
in everything possible - football, basketball, baseball, band, dance
band. Loved the fact that we beat Palmdale 35-25 in football my
Senior year. We had a heck of a team that year! It was wonderful
going to a small school where it was possible to be so involved.
Biography
Forty years surely (wouldn't Mrs. Lindsay be proud of me) have passed
in a hurry! Some good stuff and some not-so-good stuff - about what
we should expect, I guess.
I went to the AF Academy right out
of high school. After 2 1/2 years I left the Academy and moved to
Dallas where Linda (Gable) and I were married. We had two children.
I continued my education going to
night school, finishing at Southern Methodist University with a
B.S. in Math in '69. Shortly thereafter we moved to Ft. Huachuca,
Arizona where I worked in Civil Service as a computer programmer.
We moved to Oklahoma City where I continued computer work at Tinker
Air Force Base.
Linda and I divorced after 16 years
of marriage and I moved to Boston where I worked for Blue Cross.
I have three children -David, 36,
Debbie, 33, and Kevin, 19 AND two granddaughters - Eden, 10 and
Leah, 6.
Since high school, I've lived in
a lot of places: Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Massachusetts,
Wisconsin and Illinos. Now I live in the Chicago area, where I've
lived for the last 11 years.
I have continued with my love of
music (I credit Mr. Thompson at Desert for this). Now, I'm singing
in a mixed chorus and play alto sax in the local junior college
concert band.
I'm very active in Toastmasters,
having held several offices in the club, including President.
Ever since I started working with
computers in college, I've continued in the field, and have loved
(almost) every day of it. I'm currently the Chief of the Executive
Software Division (mainframe systems programming) at the US Military
Entrance Processing Command in North Chicago. I don't expect to
retire until the "normal" retirement age unless by some
miracle I come into some very big money. As I said, I enjoy doing
what I do.
