Biography
JUST WANTED TO NOTIFY OUR CLASSMATES THAT OUR A.O.L NAMES HAVE CHANGED---WE NOW HAVE OUR OWN, AND ARE NO LONGER USING OUR SON'S. IF ANY CLASSMATES FROM 1960 ARE INTERESTED, THERE WILL BE A SCHOOL REUNION ON OCT. 17, 1998 FOR CLASSES FROM 1955 TO 1959, AND OTHER CLASSMATES FROM OTHER YEARS. SINCE 1960 HAS NEVER HAD A REUNION TO MY KNOWLEDGE, IT WOULD BE GREAT TO GET AS MANY OF OUR CLASSMATES FROM THAT YEAR THERE TO JOIN IN. CONNIE (WHITSON) MCCARTHY E-MAIL:l CMCARTHY @ HUGHES. NET, IS GATHERING UP INFORMAATION AND MONEY FOR THE REUNION. IT'S BEING HELD AT THE ANTELOPE VALLEY INN IN LANCASTER, CA.. (I DON'T KNOW IF I'M SUPPOSE TO USE THIS PAGE FOR THIS TYPE OF INFORMATION, BUT IT SEEMED SO IMPORTANT TO ME TO LET EVERYONE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS REUNION) GOD BLESS YOU ALL, AND TAKE CARE. SINCERELY, PATTY WEBB-CLASS OF 1960

Up-date
Everett is now retired, from the Union Pacific Railroad, and we have moved back to Boron, where we spent our teen-age years, got married, and had our first child. It's just like coming home again! We enjoy an occasional trip in our motor home, and just the laid back life retirement affords. We very much enjoyed the reunion in October, 1999, and renewed many old friendships. We'd love to hear from other classmates.

Glenn Bridgeman
Year Graduated:58

Favorite Memory:
My favorite memories of Desert High is that the school was small, which meant that you knew everyone(almost). I also enjoyed playing sports (all). Would like to hear from any graduates of 58. The invention of computers has really helped the cause.

Biography
I went to work for the Post Office in 1965 and retired in 1992. I had various jobs within, but the two most important to me were as Postmaster, Lebec, Ca & Postmaster, Terra Bella, Ca. My childhood dream was to become a Postmaster. The only difference was that when I was a kid the Postmaster was a Piller of the Community. Things had changed, but still I realized my child hood dream.
I also was assigned to a
task force that helped assign you the infamous 9 Digits that you now use (maybe) in your zip code

Paul D. McCearley
Year: 1958

Favorite Memory
My friends. Karl, Louie, Pat, Linda, and many others.
Friends. Friends. Friends

Biography
As to my having been a nerd; they're right. The time was right; the need was there; and I went for it. Spent several years and "earned" degrees at Mississippi State University, Millsaps College, and University of Southern Mississippi. Only DHS classmate I've run into was at Mississippi State in about 1960 when I ran into Eric Zipp in the Grille which was the closest thing we had to a good place to eat. He was living somewhere in Florida at that time. Think he left shortly after that because I didn't see him more than a couple of times. Worked for Shell Oil Company for a bunch of years in U.S. and foreign operations then took early retirement opportunity and started my own business. Lots more fun now. Since I "retired" I've come to realize that, although I didn't mean to,I shorted Shell all those years. There are lots more work hours in a day than I used to think there were. Happily I'm still a practicing nerd but my best friend who is also my wife and our four sons seem to be able to put up with me OK. I have a dog; he's an AMERICAN dog and he REALLY likes me. His name is Eli and he's about 15 years old now. He's like me though, we both think we're still pups. There you go. I've told yawl (note the Southern accent; that's because we live in Mississippi) about all there is about me. Really hope you guys will jump in and let us know about you. [Seriously; you guys are part of the happiest memories of my life. I thank you and I wish you the very best.]
